IRISH MUSIC DOUBLE BILL IN BAYSIDE

Bayside Corners invites you to an uplifting Evening of Irish Music in Bayside on Thursday, March 19th at the Bayside Grange. For this double bill of local favorite Good Company and Cécilia, widely recognized as three of Canada’s finest musicians, doors will open early at 5:15PM and music will start at 6:15 p.m.

Good Company opens with their own engaging arrangements of Irish and Scottish jigs, reels and ballads. Multi-instrumentalist extraordinaire Sam McNeill brings alive their Celtic tunes on traditional instruments; Janet Finney Krull enhances the international flavor; and Bob Stockwell and Patty McHaney round out the popular Good Company sound.

Then Cécilia will take the stage with their lively explorations of traditional Celtic and Quebecois music and skillfully arranged pieces influenced by contemporary, classical, jazz and swing styles. While honoring their heritage as Cécilia, their music making has a fresh and high-spirited sound. Cécilia's recent debut album Accent is an impressive offering full of vibrant rhythms and melodies, all resonating with a unique warmth and richness of expression. It is a pleasure to see how much Timi Turmel, Erin Leahy, and Louis Schryer enjoy playing together to blend the best of many musical worlds.

A variety of desserts and cold & hot beverages will be available. Proceeds support Bayside Corners community improvement projects and preparation for emergencies and disasters. Buy tickets before March 1st to save $5 for this entertaining evening. A $2 discount is offered to the first 25 Humboldt Folklife Society members’ ticket purchases.
